Two babies brought to Children's Hospital last week after suffering from "shaken baby syndrome" remain in critical and serious condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday. The babies, 14-month-old Hunter Rodriguez of Aurora and 8 week old Jonah Ruiz of Greeley, suffered their injuries while under the supervision of different licensed day-care providers. Hunter was upgraded t serious condition over the weekend. Jonah's status, which is critical, has remained unchanged since he arrived at Children's Oct. 19. Both day-care providers have been arrested. Twenty-nine-year-old Shawna Pint, who was caring for Hunter, faces possible charges of felony child abuse. Mike Knight, a spokesman for the Arapahoe County district attorney's office, said prosecutors have not yet filed charges. Rene Gallegos, 29, will be arrested in Weld County Court on Nov. 16. She has been charged with child abuse and inflicting severe bodily injury. Gallegos was supervising Jonah.
