Toddler's condition improves
The Denver Post | October 30, 1998

Hunter "Angel Bear" Rodriguez improved Saturday to serious condition, but another child remained in critical condition at Children's Hospital.

Both children were allegedly abused by being shaken by their baby sitters, police in Aurora and Greeley said.

Jonah Ruiz, 8 weeks old, was taken to Children's Hospital on Monday after he was injured at his Greeley day-care center. Rene Gallegos, 29, a sitter, was being investigated on suspicion of child abuse.

Later in the day, Hunter, age 14 months, was taken to the hospital after the child's sitter, Shawna Pint, notifed the baby's mother that her son ill.

Pint also was being investigated on suspicion of felony child abuse.
